The sandals are made by amputees in Jakarta, Indonesia. By buying these sandals, you are empowering them to reclaim their lives. The majority if the amputees are leprosy survivors, and the stigma of having been a leper makes them social outcasts. Getting any opportunity at a job can be impossible in Indonesian society. This project provides them not only an opportunity to regain their dignity, but also a way for them to have a sustainable living.
